"David`s Bridal"...not The Place To
For all of you looking for a "QUALITY" wedding gown, I truly advise future brides to be aware of "David`s Bridal". I have had a terrible experience with them. I guess the saying is true of, "What you get is what you pay for". Unfortunately when I saw a dress that I had in mind, the unknwoledgable staff had shown me dresses in which I prefered Ivory. The gown that I ended up purchasing, yet very hesistant due to 2 women returning their "Special Ordered" dresses that were damaged when they received them. The SALES woman who was selling me the dress PROMISED me that my dress would be made new due to my pettite size. She repedely said to me and promised me that this was going to be the case. I then made the order with hesitation, but purchased it anyhow because it was so cheap. When I received the dress it was okay, however I learned that the dress that I had was not ALL IVORY, instead it was IVORY w/RUM. I learned this from a friend who had gone on their website and told me about it. I brought the dress back to David`s Bridal and wanted to exchange it for an ALL IVORY dress and let them know that I was never told by the "sales" person what my options were. It really made me realize that they are the type of corporation that is more interested in only selling you a dress to make a sale, rather than truly working with the individual for her most presicous day and have them be ultimatley satified in every way. My mother and I proceeded to exchange the dress as we had a very difficult time doing so. They made it challenging to simply get the dress that I was not informed of originally due to the lack of knowledge of the sales personel at David`s Bridal. They told me that it would take up to 12 weeks, which I found that they all have a certain "script" they are trained to say and are not competant in knowing exactly what it entails of which the status is of a dress after one has been ordered. I also learned that their meaning of SPECIAL ORDER does not mean you will be getting a "NEW" dress, but one that is shipped from another store that has been tried on etc. As most brides take much pride in their beautiful gowns, this is the last thing that anyone would want. So, as a result and sad to say, my wedding was called off. In turn I still had not received the all Ivory dress that I ordered and went back to cancel my order with all of my paperwork intact. David`s Bridal had absolutely no sympathy nor any interest in simply cancelling the order to give me my money back. Once they realized that I had exchanged the dress once, of course this was due to their sales person who never informed me that there was another dress that was ALL IVORY whic I requested. They refused to refund my money. As I realize this would be one less sale for them, the dress had not arrived to begin with and this was shortly after the exchange was made. The way David`s Bridal`s orginization runs is not what any bride would wish on if they are looking for one, that special and personlized attention to detail and two, a very knowledgable staff that really cares and takes pride in working with their customers from start to finish. They have proved to me and I am sure I am not the only customer that has had this experience. I should have known that the 2 women that were at the counter irrate due to their wedding gowns that they ordered had wholes in them and was dirty that I should have never bought a gown from that store. This particular store that I went to was honestly proof that you really "get what you pay" for and much less than that there. It is all a learning process, but what a burden this can put on a person. I do not recommend this store to anyone, unless they are really only looking for a cheap dress where the corporation is merely interested in "Making a Sale". It is very unfortunate. I highly recommend to go elsewhere and pay just a little more for higher quality service as well as a well trained staff that cares about the individual who is going to buy her dream gown for the one and only day of her life that she will cherish forever. Your dress is one of the most important elements for your wedding and David`s Bridal is unfortunately not a place that I would refer to anyone to buy a dress. Yes, they are "cheap" as this goes for everything including the service there at there facility.

The store is located in Torrance, California. I can honestly compare the impression that was given to me from their staff was comprable to a car dealership. You just don`t get the feeling that they care much about having repetative clientel as well as good referals. I so believe that the David`s Bridal located in Orange County has a much higher quality of staffing as well as a larger variety of dresses. Although my experience was not what I wished it to be, I am sure there are people that have had good ones too. I think that the Torrance location needs to "upgrade" their staffing along with the training and knowledge that needs to be implemented to bring out the best of what David`s Bridal would want to give out as a reputable store. In comparing that particular store in Torrance, it would be comprable to a JC Penny vs Nordstroms, where David`s Bridal would be the JC Penny. It may be suitbale for some, but I would never recommend that location after my experience.
