Fall Wedding Decorations
I have a wedding planned late October, I thought about a fall theme for the actual decorating of the church. I need some classy but sort of elegant fall theme decorating ideas for a wedding?

Colors should reflect you theme. Oranges, reds, greens, and yellows even a deep purple would like great. I would suggest perhaps working in cornicopias and fall leaves for centerpiece ideas for place card holders I`ve seen people use mini pumpkins which was rather a unique idea.

Charity thanks for your reply, I like the ideas you give, I don`t think I will have any problems with like the centerpieces. My real problem is how to decorate the actual church sanctuary room. Would you have anymore ideas on that?

We got married last November and had a total fall theme. In our church though decorations were held to a minimum for us because the church is over 110 years old and has all that dark wood. It is painted in golds, beige`s, browns, and reds. There are two big stained glass windows in the back that have the same colors in them. The carpeting is red so we did not use a runner, the red looked so nice. We only provided altar flowers which were fall flowers/colors. Around the communion rail we had rust colored potted mums. I wanted NO white, my dress was ivory. So our pew bows were ivory. My unity candle and tapers (which I purchased online) were ivory with fall leaves embedded in them. My flowergirls basket and ring pillow were ivory with gold thread throughout them (also found online). My flowergirl dropped silk fall leaves as she came up the aisle. Our programs had fall leaves in rust on the front (I printed them myself because I could not find any fall themed programs) and then I used rust colored ink to print them. I loved this theme and it turned out so nice, we got so many compliments. Good Luck and have fun planning!

Recent Bride, thanks for the advice. My colors are going to be Ivory and a wine color. I was also going to use leaves in place of rose petals for the flower girls. I thought instead of a flower basket actually in satin or something like that I would use a plain wicker basket. But the ideas about the mums that is a great idea. Sure appreciate it. Thanks.

I saw a beautiful cake and other decorations online that are gorgeous. I wouldn`t decorate a church too much. I really loved what Recent Bride said, it was simple and yet sounds so gorgeous I can almost picture it! BEAUTIFUL!!! I would focus the decorations on the reception. I loved the ideas, they were great.

If you can have pew markers, Micheals has the tin wall baskets on sale right now. You can spray paint them to the ivovy if they aren`t already that color and add your colored ribbon. You can also use the small grapevine or grass wreaths and decorate them in the fall colors with your ribbon. Use the mum flowers in pretty wicker natural colored baskets and have them set all over the alter. For your reception see if you can find or rent an old fashion floral or harvest cart and use that for your gifts. Congratulations.
