Invitation

I need to know how to address an invitation when the gentleman is a medical doctor and the wife a PhD.

Does she go by Dr.? If so I think it would be
Dr John and Dr Joan Smith.

Usually only medical doctors use the professional title in social situations. So Dr. And Mrs. John Doe is fine. If you know for a fact that this woman uses her phd title socially, then you can address the invitation
