Centerpieces & Favors...
I am getting married next year. I am having a garden reception but getting married in a Church. I had finally decided on the centerpieces and but wasn`t sure if it would be too much. I wanted Lucky Bamboo, really tall ones in tall thin vases. I wondered if it was too much because I found heart shaped lucky bamboo that I am putting in personalized bud vases and that is what I was giving out to the guest at the wedding. Someone told me that it was too much. I guess I was looking for something that people didn`t have to really take care of like a real flower or plant but also something to stick with my theme. The lucky bamboo needs no sun, dirt and it will be in the vase with river rocks and a little water. I had even thought that it would be nice to stick a poem on it that basically said as long as you follow the instructions this plant will grow, the heart will grow symbolizing that our love will continue to grow as well. But they still think it is too much. Please let me know maybe there is something else that I can do. Thanks.

I love this idea. I found some great priced bamboo on an auction website, very affordable, but after reading the seller feedback I realized that they do not come with the leaves on them, you will need time for them to grow a bit before the wedding and I am out of time for that. One thing though, for the centerpieces, tall bamboo might be too much. You need to make sure your guests can see over it for conversation. Try one out and see. If it`s still too tall, you can use them elsewhere, gift table, cake table, near the buffet and at the bar where tall looks great and isn`t in the way. Or add the favor size pieces into the centerpiece, you won`t need as many other flowers or greenery to fill them out.
Good Luck
