To Change, Or Not To Change: That Is My Quest
How many of you are staying in your dress for the reception and how many are changing into somehting else? IF so, what is everyone chanign into? Are you changing there? OR before? Do the guys change too? All of the wedding party?

I`m staying in mine because so many people will be taking pictures. And all of the weddings I`ve been to, the bride, groom, and wedding party always stay in the close they wore at the ceremony. But you should be comfortable on your special day. If your dress if uncomfortable then you could change into something more comfortable. Same with the rest of the party. But I wouldn`t change into a pair of old jeans or anything like that. I`d get something dressy (but comfortable) to change in to- again- same with the rest of the party. Good luck!

I am staying in my dress the whole night but mom picked up some flip flop for him and her saying "just married" and we will wear the flip flops once we say I do . I dont want my feet to hurt. I also told the wedding party to bring a change of shoes too.

This question always confused me. I never understood why a bride would want to change out of her wedding gown. I mean you spend that much money on a dress and then you only want to wear it 15 minutes during your ceremony? To me that always seemed so strange. Plus, I always thought that a person would want to stay in their dress as long as they could b/c it made them feel special and beautiful and elegant and on top of the world. So, I`ve always wondered why anyone would want to change out of that, you only get it once (well, hopefully) in your life. That being said, I`ve never seen anyone change into something different and I personally plan on wearing the dress the entire time. I just needed to voice my own confusion on this topic b/c it has confused me since I was little when i first heard of the idea.

I`m staying in my dress all night. I`ll only take it off that night because I would have to! hehehe. I agree if you`re spending a lot on your dress keep it on as long as you can!

I personally have never been to a wedding where anyone changed their clothes. We stayed in ours all night, I loved my dress and wanted to keep it on as long as possible. And perhaps you will have people that cannot attend the ceremony and only the reception so they would never even see your dress!

Thank you! I have always just figured the dress stays on until the the honeymoon (he he) but lately it seems everyone keeps asking me what I have picked out to wear at the reception. I always just tell them, my dress. Then they inform me that you have to be comfortable at your reception and that everyone will expect you to change. Well, that is why I bought a comfortable dress. I do like the Just Married flip flop idea. I never entended to change out of my dress but it seems that everyone I know thinks you are suppose to. Thanks.

I`d love to stay in my dress all night long... I always wanted to, but my reception is going to be a few hours after the wedding itself and in a back yard. I`m going to change because I love the dress so much I don`t want it to be ruined by grass or possibly getting snagged on the porch. I bought another dress that is very classy and pretty so i`ll still stand out.
If I were having a real reception in a hall then I definately wouldn`t take my dress off at all.
