BEST BIRTH CONTROL METHOD??
Hello. I need some advice. I`ve heard it all about all the methods that are out there, but is there anyone here that recommends one that doesn`t cause nausea or weight gain. I already get enough nausea as it is, and I don`t want any form of birth control to add to that. I`ve heard about the Natural Family Planning Method, but I`m not sure that`s for me. Any suggestions??

I personally do not use any birth control. We have been doing the rhythm method, which basically he controls, and pulls out before ejaculation. This is hard because sometimes you just can`t help it, but we`ve been doing good, we`ve mastered it, I`ve been doing this for 8 years. It`s all about control to tell you the truth. It`s scary though because we`ve had a few accidents and I thought I was pregnant, you`d think I`d learn. But anyways, I think it`s best that you talk to your doctor about this. Everyone`s body reacts different. I did use the Depo Provera, and I hated it, I was always spotting in between my periods, I gained so much weight and I still think that weight gained while on birth control is so hard to loose! I`m thinking about the IUD, not sure though. The thing I hated most with the Depo Provera, was that I went in, got the shot and next day I got my period, and when it was over, I`d spot all month, after month until my next shot, then my period would stop for a couple of days then start again. I HATED THAT TYPE OF SURPRISE!!!

Brides out there do not take the advice of the rhysum method it may have worked for that person, maybe she is infertile already and does not know it!!!, you can get pregant very simply that way, you cannot conrol pre-ejact fluid!!!! which made my friend pregnant on her honeymoon 3 years ago!!!
Girls dont be fooled with this, go on the bill for wedding night and honeymoon like i am.

Oh yeah Anna, you`re on the bill huh? I have two beautiful children already, one is 3 and the other is 8, I did the rhythm method for both, we controlled when to have both children. I am not infertile! You`re right! It did work for me, I did not suggest she do that. I merely said what I was doing, the best advice I gave her was to see her doctor, since we all do react differently to many things.

Anna,
All I can say is "BIG DEAL" no one cares that you and your "FANTASTIC" hub are supermodels. NO ONE cares that you are 5`9 and 115lbs.......... I guess the one that points that out has something to prove...... Well I`d for one be more impressed if you went to school and got an education.
"Julie" ( my REAL name)

The method of pulling out pre-ejaculation is not even the true Rhythm method. The rhythm mehod has to do with not having sex while you are ovulating. Figuring out at which point of your cycle you are not fertile. For this to work your cycle must be VERY regular and there are approx 5-7 days a month that you absolutely cannot have sex.. If you are thinking about using this method research it very well. I have only one thing to say....this was the chosen method of birth control for the Moms of the 50`s....creating the largest of any generational group (the baby boomers), because they did not have access to the pill. If you really don`t want to use the pill, the next safest method is condoms and a spermicide combined. I have to agree that the poster who uses the pull out method has been VERY VERY lucky. Just one drop of sperm on the end of a penis can go along way in making babies. Talk to your Dr or someone at planned parenthood for the best method for you, but guaranteed NO one will recommend relying on pulling it out. Good Luck!

Angie, you just put crap on this board! Hello! Well the "pulling out before ejaculation" works for me! Like I said, we`ve been doing this for a long time and when we decided to have our two children we did! I am a bad pill taker, so I would never go on the pill. Each person should just see her doctor to decide which is best for each one. I have some co-workers that have had no side effects to the pill or other contraceptives. I get migraine headaches, and I know some pills cause headaches or other aches and pains.

You haven`t learned anything in school did you? "Pulling out" is not the rhythm method, and I hope that there are no teenagers reading this as you are bound to get pregnant, unlike what you are trying to tell people.... You must not be as fertile as other woman are, as you are not getting pregnant with this method - you should talk to your doctor as to why you`re NOT getting pregnant every time. That, or your just older and your eggs aren`t as young, because luck has nothing to do with this.
The Rhythm method involves taking your temperature, keeping a record of your cycle, etc. You obviously don`t know what you`re talking about. The fact that I`m sarcastic, doesn`t mean that it`s crap, it gave me a chance to respond to your retarded responses. Feel free to ask anymore questions though, as I think people are entitled to GOOD advice.....

Angie, you`re an idiot, I won`t even call you a retard, since they are smarter than you! And for your information, I am not old, I had my daughter at 20 and my son at 25, we decided when to have them! One was born in June, the other in July, exactly 5 years and 1 month apart! just like we wanted! Besides, age doesn`t make a difference nowadays when attempting to get pregnant, My aunt is 45 and just had her first baby! If you keep on wishing infertility on other people, you`re going to end up that way! You do what works for you, and I do what works for me! I am able to get pregnant you dummy, I got pregnant a couple of month`s ago and had a miscarriage! So don`t talk trash about me being infertile and not being able to get pregnant! like I said in my previous post, this is a scary method! but it works for me! obviously I`m able to support my children and many more if this is the method I have chosen! I am so glad I don`t know you personally, I`m sure we would have butt heads from the beginning just like now! Dummy!

I agree that everyone should basically see their doctor for advice on what birth control is best for them. Childless, you made me laugh! Angie, not sure what degree you went to school to pursue, but I sure as hell did not have a "pull out" class. Anyone else take that course? Anyways....ladies see your doctor.

Ladies, why has this turned into a name calling issue? I do not direct negative energy toward anyone, I just stated facts, I did not call anyone retarded, I said your comments were. I actually have a Masters degree in Law - what can you say for your education? As for a class in "pulling out" it was a part of sex ed that everyone should keep inthe back of their mind with the way society is today. Basically children having children. This is the last posting you will see from me on this subject, as I am not out to change the world, you will keep using your method no matter what I say, and children will keep having children when they read postings regarding the "pullout method" and how it "can" work. I think to have children at 20 is way too young, as what kind of future can you offer your child at that age? Will you tell your children that your method was smart? I think you can`t say anything else in this situation, that is why you keep underlining the fact that "both kids were planned"....Whatever. Ladies, unless someone on this board is a certified doctor, don`t listen to them - and Teenagers, if you`re sexually active use condoms to avoid STD`s and pregnancy. The pill works, but does not prevent STD`s - AND EVERYONE SHOULD KEEP IN MIND THAT NOTHING IS 100% EFFECTIVE. Check the labels, there is always a chance of pregnancy, even if you use the product correctly. The name callers on this board could put their 2 cents in their pockets, because I`m not interested, I just don`t want to see more unnecessary abortions, neglected children, and tons of new epidemics. I think those that are more concerned with name calling just prove their ignorance.... Good luck Leslie, I hope your doctor will be able to help you better than this board did. Remember you have the right to choose what`s best for you, your husband, and your future family. Your choice is what counts in the long run, as it will directly affect you and your family.
Congratulations on your wedding.

Congratulations Adriana, you just justified that people like you shouldn`t have kids. Angie has quite a few points that everyone overlooks. So what that she stand behind her opinion, at least she has one. All you could do is call people names. I don`t think you have very many friends with that attitude Adriana, if anyone would butt heads with anyone it would be most us with YOU. Have a good day. And Angie, you should rally against something, you got me going! YOU GO GIRL!

Emily you don`t have to study something in specific to know that the pull out method was brushed upon in sexEd class. And Adriana, I have to agree with Jan you shouldn`t have kids, because the way you answer other people, you bring that into your own family, so your kids are probably the same way as you are, ignorant, if not developing psychological problems. But what can you do, you didn`t know any better as you were probably taught the same way, having kids at 20 and all. I think you`re the idiot if you can`t see what the other adults on this site are seeing in you. You`re a very unhappy peron that can`t have an opinion without name calling. Nice personality, you must be great at parties, among the drunks......................Katie, what do you do for a living, I get the feeling you work in law, but with families or kids, am I right? You must see a lot to feel so strongly. You said you`re not out to change the world, but you really could. You really should rally, I`m with Jan.

Ok, so in all my internet research for birth control methods, the orthoevra patch seems to be the best option, it seems to have the least amount of side effects compared to other hormonal birth control options out there and the fact that you don`t need to remember a pill everyday is definitly a plus
But no matter what, your best bet is just to talk to your gyno about which method is best for you
