Dedication Ceremony
Volunteers needed
Non-profit AIDS organization is looking for dedicated individuals to donate a bit of their time to a worthy cause.
Founded in 1993, the mission of The Wall-Las Memorias Project is to educate the Latino community about cultural denial, HIV/AIDS and build an eternal monument to honor our loved ones who have died of AIDS. The AIDS monument was a vision of Richard Zaldivar, a local community activist. As the AIDS epidemic impacted families, Zaldivar believed that a public symbol would create a focal point for discussion and healing.
The Wall Las Memorias Project is planning their dedication ceremony after ten years of hard work. It is scheduled to take place in October 16, 2004 in Lincoln Park which is located in northeast Los Angeles.
We are looking for people with experience in the following: Entertainment, Stage and lighting, sound, food and beverage, décor, marketing and communication, security, valet, event coordinating and logistics.
If you are interested in volunteering please email Ida Tagliente at: ibrienza@aol.com. The deadline to sign up is August 5, 2004.
Orientation will take place at office of The Wall Las Memorias Project, located at; 111 North Avenue 56, Los Angeles, CA 90042. For further information call Yoselinda Barrios at (323) 257-1056 ext. 29
