Poor Sports!

I didn't win either, there are a couple of hundred stories that didn't win. I'm sorry, but I kind of took offense to the "We were going to wait until all the other girls scammed their way to the top..." comment. I know that I, for one, encouraged my friends and family to vote fairly and honestly and NOT to vote other stories down. As soon as I found out my younger brother had voted a couple of stories down I asked him to stop immediately, and he has promised me that he did.

Team PartyPOP has done nothing wrong in this... If the deadline was misunderstood, there was more than a month for any questions to be addressed. They do not keep their e-mail address a secret (partypop@partypop.com) and the question was addressed at least three times right here on the message board.

I am sorry for Lisa and her friends and family if a misunderstanding was the case, however, I do not think that any one person is "more deserving" of this prize than any other. We all have our stories. We all have our dreams.

This voting was simply used to narrow the field down for PartyPOP so that they might choose the winner. They stated very clearly that they will be making the final decision on who the winner is and not this voting. Yes, having a high score is nice and quite frankly, flattering. I know that for me to have the score I have there had to be people that I don't know voting for me, I simply don't know that many people!

I think everyone needs to keep a positive attitude in this because, as I've said before, when it all comes down to it... We are marrying the person of our dreams. That one person that we have chosen to spend the rest of our lives with. 50K or 5K I'm going to have a fabulous wedding!

I don't want anyone to take offense to anything I've written. I think Lisa's story is fabulous. Good luck to everyone, and Congratulations to the winner... Whomever you may be.

Dear Anon, First I want you to know that by no means are any of my family and friends expressing any negative comments against any of the other entries. We were not aware of the Jan 2nd cut off date since the only deadline date that I knew of was Jan 5th...the one that Partypop sent in their e mail back in october. I did have my voters hold off with their votes until the last minute which was suppose to be today because when this voting first started...I was voted down so fast everytime I took the lead. Well on the evening of Jan 2nd, I was surprised to see that the voting was over. I called Partypop with my concerns and THEY encouraged me to have my family and friends express their feelings about my story and relationship on this message board. So you see... You have clearly misunderstood my voters' intentions. I hope that the other contestants did not take things the same way that you did...and if they did...I appologize. Sincerely, Lisa G.

I understand what you are saying Lisa, and I appreciate your honesty. However, it is incorrect that you state that your family and friends did not say anything against the other contestants.

Others saw the same lines that I did and showed their concerns too.
Those Lines were:

"Spoiled girls demanding their prize" (Tally)

"who will remember this as a GIFT, not something that is owed to her because she was in the lead at 12:00 midnight " (Samu)

"We were going to wait until all the other girls scammed their way to the top and then show our support at the end" (Zemaj)

And there are others.

How is this not slamming the other contestants?

Lisa, I see nothing wrong with how you've carried yourself, or in how you've responded to things, but as you can see it is incorrect that you stated: "by no means are any of my family and friends expressing any negative comments against any of the other entries"

I'm glad that you got your family and friends to support you, but from what I see, and others see, the negitive lines stand out more than anything.

However your siters post was very warming and spoke more volumes than any of the others.

For the record, I don't have any idea who Lisa is or for that matter, where she's from.
I do know that she had a good story and I don't think it boils down to any of us being "Poor Sports".
I think it just upsets a lot of us to see that those who were officially leading with the highest votes from friends, family and many unknown people that were able to recognize and appreciate a good story, be unfairly voted down by cheating or unfair play.
I just enjoyed reading the stories and voted for several that were good, I thought that was the idea of the whole contest.
One more thing before I sign off, these so called "Poor Sports"have been the ones with the truest "sportsmanship", they are not complaining. It's all the rest of us that have noticed the unfairness going on.
Afterall, in case you haven't noticed, they are the ones sending congratulations to whomever wins and many are just saying they had fun participating in the contest.
For instance, take a look at some of the messages posted by Keri H. She is the one that actually had the highest votes at exactly the cut-off time, do you see her complaining? She has several messages where she has been congratulating whomever wins.
She not only has" True Sportsmanship, " she has the pride in knowing her votes were cast by people who truly liked her story.
Keep up the good work ladies and don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing such a terrific job!!!
