GIFT FOR PARENTS
Hello. My fiance and I want to go all out with our gifts for our parents. We decided we want to give them a vacation!! Does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase tickets or travel info in a situation like ours? Should I contact a travel agent? I want to be able to give them a choice as to where they can go and we will pay for it. I`m not sure how to go about all of that. Any suggestions would be great!

I`m not sure how to go about it either, but I want to commend you for being so thoughtful. So many brides get so caught up in their big day that they don`t realize how much other people put into it. Your post is definitely a nice change of pace after all the posts about how to ask for money. :)
I would probably go to a travel agent, or make an appointment for your parents to see a travel agent so they can make arrangements. Best of luck to you, you deserve it!

What about searching, planning online? We got my parents a gift certificate for a Bed and Breakfast online. I don`t remember the site but it was a certificate that you could use at any one of hundreds of B&B`s throughtout the country. That way they could pick where and when. I`m sure if you search some of the travel sites you can find something similar.
My parents LOVED it.

First try talking to your parents or their friends and try finding out what time of the year they would have open to travel. Then set up your budget for their trip including all of the extras like tax, meals, golf packages and so on. I would do a bit of searching online first and see what you can come up with in your price range. Then go see your favorite travel agent. I am sure if they`ve been in the field very long they have seen this type of thing before. They can let you knowwhere the best deals are at certain times of the year and where you will get the most for your $$. Also you cna have your parents visit with her after you`ve let them know their gift is a vacation, your travel agent can get them set up in something and apply the charges to your credit card with your preapproval and agreement not to go one penny over a preset amount.
