Poor Service At David`s Bridals
Re: Compaint about David`s Bridals Lafayette, LA
Yesterday, I accompanied my daughter, who is a member of the wedding party of a family friend, and who will be leaving to move out of state within the next two weeks, to the David`s Bridal store in Lafayette, LA. All six bridesmaids and the flower girl made a trip of over an hour for a previously verified appointment to meet with a consultant to finalize choices for dresses and accessories for a February wedding. We would have been better treated by a greeter at Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart greeter would also have had more knowledge about his product and appropriate customer service procedures. I certainly find it difficult to understand how a staff, even though they may have been overbooked, could so easily trivialize a possible sale of over $1000. Granted, that may not be one of their larger sales, but I assure you that word of mouth about the incompetence of the staff of this particular store will be communicated to others in our area.

It`s so disheartening when you don`t get the service you deserve. You`d think as a potential customer you`d get some top treatment. However, as I found, unless you look like some rich chick - they dont care much for you (bit like the movie `Pretty Woman`). One shop I went into insisted that no-one gives out bridal brochures. Her tone was extremely rude and sarcastic. I corrected her by telling her that I`d received several brochures from willing shops - she then had the cheek to ask me to prove it...

I encountered that same problem with the David`s Bridal in Northridge, California. Terrible customer service and terrible organizational skills, but I decided to give them one more try by going to another location (Burbank, California). I was treated so well, however I did mention my terrible experience at the Northridge store.

I agree with the poor service at davids bridal. If you dont look like you have the cash they treat you like garbage. I went in for my appointment and no one wanted to help me. It was so disgusting that i left. Never to go their or recommend again.

I agree about them also. I was Maid of honor in my brother`s wedding a few months ago. There was just me and 1 other girl there needing to buy our dresses since the bride was just there to pick hers up. I was in Independence, Missouri specifically for this (I live in Ontario, Canada) and was treated so rudely!
The consultant was in the room with the bride and made a reference to her 2 girls (us) who don`t understand how difficult it is for them (consultant) to try to find dresses suitable for overweight women. We just aren`t fortunate enough to have the great figure like her and make their job too difficult.
I was never so humiliated in my life!! I did however, give a different location a chance for my own wedding. In St. Louis, I went in and never gave the girl a chance to be rude because I told her how we were treated at another store and would be certain to file a discrimination suit if I was ever treated that way again. She kept a huge smile on her face the entire time she helped us. But they still have the worst possible customer service skills I have ever seen in my life.

Kim,
I agree with you. I live in Independence Mo. And went to that same store the one on Noland Road when I was getting married. (which was in March) looking for BM gowns and I was so unimpressed with the service. They wouldn`t help with anything. She briefly showed us a rack and said here`s what we have. We left quickly and I am so glad we did. And for weeks and weeks she called my house and called my house. We went to Lee`s Summit, Mo to a hometown bridal shop and we had EXCELLENT service. So sometimes it is better to spend a few extra bucks to get the better service and piece of mind you derserve on such a special and important occassion in your life. ;)
