Children`s Table
I have read a few messages on this board regarding having a children`s table to keep them busy and out of everyone`s hair.
How is this handled without offending anyone?
I do realize that many parents will be relieved to have a few minutes of adult conversation, but there will always be few who can`t have their kids more than 12 inches from arms reach. I have no way of knowing in advance who will behave which way until they are there.
So how would the seating chart be handled? Do I automatically chart them at the kids table or do I have to leave space at their parents table thus possibly leaving tables half empty?

THe reception hall we are renting has a seperate room for children, so after dinner they will be escorted in there by older children and we will have games, an ice cream maker, cotton candy maker and the such for them so they can have fun and the parents can too without any worries

I sat all the kids together at kids tables. If they wanted to get up and go to their parents or dance or mingle around, then they did. It`s not a big deal.

I don`t mean they have to stay put at the Kid`s table for the entire time. But if they decide after 20 minutes or whatever that they want to sit with their parents, then what? There is no room for them at their parents table.
How is this part of it handled. Am I supposed to relocate other guests for the children or just tell them too bad, you`re not allowed to sit here?

You really needn`t worry yourself with every bit of minutia. Seat the children where you want them seated. After that it really doesn`t matter, and you will be too busy dancing and visiting with your guests to know or care.

This is such a great idea. I went to a wedding that was outside and the bride set-up small lawn furniture for the kids. Glow sticks, candy, crayons and all for the kids. It was wonderful!
