Dieting
Ok, let me say this...I am SEVERELY overweight, and I am working on changing my eating habbits and all of that and I know Crash dieting is bad. That said, I need to do some quick slimming for my wedding in four weeks. I was looking at the cabbage soup diet...I know thats only a one week thing with two weeks in between but was thinking maybe if I did that this week, then two weeks of atkins (since thats not really a crash diet so to speak) and then the finnal week on the Cabbage...maybe it would help? I`m desperate here...any advice and/or tips?

Hi there Jorie,
Changing your eating habits so close to your wedding could be worse than just taking it as it comes. When you change you diet it throws your whole body out of sync, making you crabby, irritated, tired and grumpy.. Not things you want to be at your wedding. I suggest just increasing your daily excercise by going for a half an hour walk when you wake up and drinking 2 LARGE glasses of COLD water before eating. The walking will increase your metabolism and drinking the water will fill you up and contract your stomach so you`ll end up eating less. Also (I know it sounds like your Grandma) but chew your food 30 times each and put down your fork every time you take a bite... It works really! You`ll end up eating less, because you take longer to eat it... And your stomach actually thinks you`re eating MORE! Another trick is to snack on celery... Not with peanut butter or anything on it though, just the celery... It is the only food that has negative calories... It takes more calories for your body to burn it than the celery contains. There are no `quick safe` diets, losing weight is a life style change... But if you follow these pointers and drink LOTS of water (water is essential to weight loss) you`ll feel better and it won`t change your moods. Whole body contour wraps are a good last resort.. And take a diruretic the day before (that will help get rid of excess water your body is holding on to and stop you feeling bloated... But make sure you stay near a toilet and DON`T do it on the day!!)
All in all remember that the man standing at the alter loves you completely and thinks you`re the most beautiful girl in the world... Don`t stress about it too much..just enjoy your day.
Good Luck
Gret.

Yes! Gret, that`s the best advise on the whole weight loss subject! Drinking lots of water and walking really does help. You don`t want to be sick on your wedding day! Intense dieting can make you ill... I also agree that your man is marrying you because he loves you for who you are. Best of luck!
