Okay, as I mentioned a while back, I'm making CD's as part of the favors for my wedding. I was thinking... What if we made our wedding program the little booklet in the cover of the CD? Do you think people would get it? I mean, do you think people would actually take it out and look at it if they were give the CD prior to the ceremony?
Also, on the labels for the CD's I want to put

Also, on the labels for the CD's I want to put Kyle & Leah McGee. Do you think that I should just hand out the programs at the Ceremony, then have the CD's at the reception... after we're married? (Since it will have us as Mr. & Mrs. On it?)
There is so much I want I want I want involved with this *haha* Where's all the I can I can I can???

Leah,
Wasn’t there a popular Janis Joplin song called "Me and Bobby McGee"? You could print the labels of the CD to have your picture on it and the Title to read "Me and Kyle McGee"...
Just a thought. Still testing the "double quotes" thing.

ROFL........ I see you were having a bit of trouble posting; ) I actually noticed quite a few other posts on the message board lately that are "missing" the last part.
But OH!! I love the idea of having the program be the little booklet that is in the CD: ) If you don;t think that anyone will look inside then maybe you could just place a little note next to them or have it added to the CD cover itself.---- Or maybe you could have the ushers be in charge of informing the guests where to find the program. I dunno...But I do love the idea.
It could be a potential problem to hand them out with Mr. And Mrs. On the cover itself as usually it isn’t "announced" until after the ceremony. Hmmm.....Dang I am not much help cause now I am just as torn as you; )
Good luck deciding,though....; )

Hi Leah!
I think the idea is adorable!
Okay, okay. I think you're stressing too much about whether you can be listed as husband and wife before the ceremony. If the program is going to include what's happening at the ceremony, then you should give them out then. OR, make up a VERY SIMPLE program to be given out at the ceremony -- like a one-sheet version on pretty paper -- that can be disposed of if necessary and give the favors at the reception.
Here's why. To begin with, not everyone who comes to the reception will come to the ceremony. Sad, but true. So then you'll have a hard time at the reception trying to figure out who received a favor and who didn't.
Also, in the opposite, you might find people who show up at your ceremony who aren't invited to the reception. I know that I often do weddings where the guest list is fairly small and friends or co-workers have to be left off the guest list for the reception. However, they do show up at the ceremony to wish their friend well. So how will it be determined if the people at the ceremony are also invited to the reception.
Do your program for the whole event and put in the CD, but then just give out the favors at the reception.
You really only need a program at the ceremony if there are certain prayers that needed to be said by the congregation. At that point, you can make up a nice one page "booklet" on your computer by typing in all the needed info on a standard 8.5x11 typing sheet that's been printed landscape and folded to make four "pages."
Hope that helps! :) Good luck and much happiness. :)

CDs are a great idea! Are you making them yourselves or having them made? What are you putting on them?

Erin,
We are putting "wedding related" music on them *haha* We're burning them with our home computer onto the CD's. Kyle and I both like country music, so that's the kind of music we're using... But you could really use any music you want. Some of the songs we're using are:
My Love Goes On and On - Chris Cagle
She Said Yes - Chad Brock
With You - Lila McCann
The Way You Love Me - Faith Hill
Everyday Love - Rascal Flatts
I Need You - Leann Rimes
Keeper of the Stars - Tracy Byrd
I Will Be There - Jessica Andrews
From This Moment - Shania Twain w/Brian White
To Make You Feel My Love - Garth Brooks
I've compiled a list of about 50 songs that we're selecting from. All of the songs will be put onto CD's, but only some of our favorites will make the FAVOR CD's. The rest will just be played during the reception (since we cannot afford a DJ or Band). We're calling it our "Original Wedding Soundtrack" and then putting our names (Kyle & Leah McGee) on them and listing all the songs, just like a real CD. They're really turning out well and I'm getting TONS of compliments already! I sent one to my mom and nearly every person she works with has listened to it already *haha*
Hope this helped!!
