Chuppas

We will be getting married in Queens, New York. On August 7th. We need a chuppa. Because we are on a super duper budget, does anyone know of a place that rents them at a low rate? Please help, we`re desperate.

What about making your own? I`ve seen some really meaningul low budget chuppas made from four poles (or pieces of wood) decorated with tulle or flowers, with the tallit of a loved one (your groom`s tallis or grandfather or anyone special to you both) as the top attached at the four corners. Have four of your wedding party hold it up during the ceremony.
