I Am Having A Sponsored Wedding....Any Ideas?

I am having a sponsored wedding and would like information on vendors who will participate in exchange for advertising and publicity. Do you know of any? The wedding will be held in Pismo Beach, CA in May of 2005. Any Suggestions would be appreciated except for those which are rude and uncalled for. This is a joyous event and I would like to keep it that way so please keep your judgements to yourself. Thank you very much for any help that is given.

Oh I forgot to respond to your questrion; you ask why a bride would splurge on her wedding day? Well I am doing it to make it special. Becasue this is the day I will marry the man that I love, the one I will have children with and that I will spend the rest of my life with. I want to share this special day with all of our close friends and family, I want to be able to promise infront of them and God that I will live the rest of my life by his side and that we will do our best to make each other and our future children happy. That is why I am having a wedding.

I`ll just add fuel to fire cause I can give a rats ass what people think of me online...

For all the haters who are jealous of others benefiting from sponsorship. If somebody walked up to you and handed you keys to a brand new car, would you take it? YOUR DAMN RIGHT YOU WOULD! so shut the hell up. I`m not even engaged and I`m only 18 years old and you are all much older then me probably and act half my age. When your kids ask for donations for their little league, football, hockey teams...would you like me telling your kid or YOU BETTER YET SINCE THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN. To tell their parents to get a 2nd job and stop begging for money at the RED LIGHTS CAUSING TRAFFIC!

I didn`t think so. So for all the hypocrites out there with their children begging for money unsupervised in the streets. IF YOU CANT` AFFORD TO HAVE YOUR KID ON A SPORTS TEAM...TONE IT DOWN FIND SOMETHING CHEAPER FOR THEM TO DO.

When you ask advice and beg for free stuff on an open message board, you don`t get to dictate what the responses should be. That isn`t rude, it`s just a fact. I`ve been reading this stuff for weeks now and while a lot of brides to be ask (and ask and ask and ask) for sponsors, I have not ever read a message from a vendor agreeing to sponsor anything at all or from a bride saying that she actually had a sponsored wedding. I don`t think such a thing really exists. It`s not a bad idea, if something like that appeals to you, but I would think that you would have to approach vendors and in your own area and make a proposal to them. Some of them, probably the ones just starting out who need exposure might work with you. I never heard of this sponsored wedding idea and when I mentioned it to my wedding planner, she just sort of laughed and said....remember....in life you only get what you pay for.

I own a bridal store, and am always shocked by what people think they are owed.
If I agree to sponsor your wedding, giving you everything for free, how many other brides are going to ask for the same thing? The answer, ALL OF THEM!!!!
Then, I will be paying for everyone`s wedding and not able to support MY own family. How will I be able to buy the dresses that you are expecting me to give to you if I have to donate to everyone? I know that you don`t care about the well being of anyone else, but you can easily have a wedding, and not spend a lot of money.
Buy a discontinued or sample dress, have your bridesmaids wear something they already own, only invite immediate family, buy flowers from a grocery store, have the ceremony during the week, go to a restaurant, and go camping or visit distant relatives as your honeymoon all of this could be done for a few hundred(not thousand) dollars.
What you are asking for not only hurts the shop owners, but also the true consumer. I will have to raise my prices in order to afford your wedding.
I am really dissappointed that you would even dare to compare this to fundraising of children`s sports or activities.

I think this is a reasonable idea. I am considering doing it myself. Some people don`t have the money, weddings aren`t cheap and if you can cut the cost of it why not?
