Where To Move???

Here is the thing ladies, I know this is not so much a wedding question but I did get married this last May and I have utilized this websit many of times and hope that some of you may be able to give me some insite as to where some great places are to live other than California. We have both lived in California all of our lives, but the bottom line is that it is just way to expensive to live here and try to raise a family; Mind you we have no children yet but we hope to with in the next year but really need a plan, we would like to go visit some other states and settle down some where but neither of us have a clue where to start. We really want one of those towns where people are friendly and everyone knows your name, I know this sounds weird but coming from California you would understand why it is important that the people be friendly where ever we move. Any advice would be much appriciated, thanks so much!

I live in Spring, Tx is outside of Houston about 20 miles it the country mets the city kinda thing. People are great and schools are good too. I came from Tyler Tx and wanted to see more but not be in the city so I picked spring because its a small town (somewhat) and I have so much to do with out the traffic of Houston there are so many free things to do in this town on the weekends I love the Miller Outdoor Theater they show plays and old time movies(think the wedding planner movies we J-lo and Matthew M are sitting watching that movie were everyone is dance outside) Texas is great you never have to leave the state to see so many different people. Where in what state can you go to Paris and Italy (name of cities in Texas) I dont know just my insite if you do decide give us a ring we are 28 and 26 and no kids love to met you and show you this great state. Sabrina7718@yahoo.com Do a search on Spring Tx and see if that what you like. Housing is cheap compared to most. We live in a luxary apt and pay 745 we have a lake, pool, game room, beach volleyball, pick up drycleaning, ect. JMO good luck to ya!!

We are getting ready to move to the Nashville, Tennessee area as soon as I graduate from college. It seems to have everthing that we want. Good schools, great climate, nice people, a city that doesn`t shut down after dark while still offering the nice country solitude, great job opportunities, and lots to do. What else could you ask for? Anyway, we love it. It`s a happy medium for both of us (He`s small town and I`m from Atlanta)
Good luck!

I live in central Texas and it is perfect ( I think so anyway!) It is hot in the summer, but still snows in the winter. It is within a few hours from gorgeous beaches (including South Padre) and also not that far from gorgeous mountains and ski resorts ( including the ski resort in Ruiodoso, NM). I think it is perfect and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. The cost of living isn`t that high, either.

Thanks alot for your input ladies, I checked out all of the areas you recommended and they all seem so nice. It just makes me sick how much we are paying to live in CA, for example the apartment we are renting is a one bedroom (764sq.ft. )and we pay $1149 not including utilities. The only upside is that it is in a good neighborhood, I am sorry but no thanks I don`t want to be paying rent for the rest of our lives. I think the hardest part is going to be leaving our families, we are both very close to our family and don`t really have too many relatives out of California. Excuse me for the run on, just have to vent a little. Best wishes to all and thanks again!
