POLL: How Did You Choose Your Date

My husband and I are renewing our vows on Oct 9th. He is in the Navy and gets two weeks of leave in October, so we didn`t really get much of a choice. But October is generally very nice in California too.

I met my husband June 19, 2002 we were engaged June 19, 2003 and we were going to get married June 19, 2004 but we had to move the date to the 20th because there was already a wedding going on at the location on the 19th.

We got married on November 29th....because we were planning our wedding from 1000 miles away, and had more than 50% of our guests that were coming from out of state also, the four day Thanksgiving weekend worked well for us.

I wanted something easy to remember, for his sake, he is bad on dates...I have to remind him on everyones birthdays, except mine of course but, our date is 5/15/05, and the time will be 5:15 that our ceremony starts =-)

When I was younger I thought of the perfect wedding date and for me that was 6/24/06. Luckily I met someone and that date just happens to fall on a Saturday and it works out the best for us.

We chose 02/26/05 because he proposed in February of this year, and we met on the 26th of April last year. So, we decided to use the month he proposed, and the day we met:) It just so happened that this date was a Saturday!! How lucky is that....

I am a student so the wedding and everything that goes along with it had to be when I was on vacation. We had originally planned to do it over spring break, but it didn`t work out to our favor. Now we are choosing to do it over Labor day weekend., the day after his Bday. Also we have alot of out of town guests and this will give them an extra day before they have to go back to work.

My fiancee and I originally picked October 2nd for our wedding date however the reception hall was booked that day so we had to choose september 24th either..we really didn`t have any plan on coming up with the date. We just went thru the calendar and picked some that sounded good..LOL

My original date had been May 9 but since my son was born on may 11, and my cousins got married on the 12th plus a few other birthdays in the family fall in May, it was too busy. So we changed it to Friday, October 13,2006, we are all about the freaky stuff. I met my FH at a Haunted House, it would only seem natural!

Were getting married on my birthday... November first

We were going to get married on march 12 because our aniversery of dating is the 12th but our wedding site got booked and now it`s April 9th so....just luck of the draw.

We`re getting married on July 31st because thats when he can get his leave from the Army. I wanted it on June 18th because that is my parents and my grandparents anniversarys but with the army, you basically plan things according to their plan

We are getting married on our 5 year anniversary, August 7th! It just so happens to be on a Saturday, like our first date.

Our anniversary is October 11, but I wanted a June wedding so we were originally going to do June 11, but living in Michigan you never know if the weather is going to be nice that early in June so we moved it to June 25, 2005!

Saturday 18th September for convenience.

I`m getting married in Brazil and Sept is an off-peak month (so cheaper flights from the UK). My brother also breaks from University during this time. By choosing Saturday 18th, it not only gives me plenty of time to oversee the wedding arrangements, but is convenient for guests who have to work during the week.

Incidently, I almost had to have Sept 11th, and for obvious reasons it was a date I`d rather not get married on. Luckily, the 18th became available...

We chose August 14, 2004 (which is right around the corner) because that was my mom and dad`s anniversary.
