Autumn Wedding Ideas
Hi!
I`m having a Fall wedding and would like pictures of Autumn cupcake wedding cakes. Also, good sites for centerpiece suggestions and photos would be great!
A few ideas from us:
1. For our favors, we are donating to the American Cancer Society in honor of my fiance`s father. We will have a scroll at each seat with a message that a donation has been made in the guest`s name in honor of his dad.
2. The cupcake wedding idea is really cute. I`ve seen pictures, but not quite what I`d like to have.
3. No white. We`re using all Autumn colors.
4. We`re going to have a Fall menu, just not sure exactly what yet.
Good luck and thanks for any suggestions.

HI,
I just wanted to commend you on your donations to american cancer society, i think thats very noble of you. I myself am a cancer survivor and now a medical student. I`ve been there and it`s not a fun place to be thats why i`m giving back by becoming a RN in pediatric oncology. It`s awesome that your wedding will give money that will help in research that one day may save someones life!

We got married November `03, and had a fall theme. Everything was beautiful. I chose also to have NO white anything. My dress was ivory and we went from there. My centerpieces and flowers were all fall colors, but my accessories were all ivory laced with gold ( R/B pillow, F/G basket, guest book, pen, container for collecting cards on the gift table etc). My pew bows were ivory. I didn`t use a aisle runner because I could not find ivory. But our church has red carpeting so that worked well. My F/G dropped silk fall color leaves, which we also used on the tables at the reception around the centerpieces. My cake had eatible fall leaves on it . I used NO pumpkins or gourds. My Mom found fall themed computer paper at Office Max and printed our programs on them. On our save the date cards as well as on our invitation it was printed...
"As autumn leaves turn their brillant hue two hearts will join and say I do". I hope this helps you, we got so many compliments on how beautiful everything turned out! Good Luck with your planning, and have fun!

My fiance and I are getting married on October 16, 2004. We decided to have a fall-themed wedding because you can use nature as your inspiration.
For favors, we purchased cellophane bags from the internet and added fall colored hershey kisses with a handmade favor tag, and then tied them closed with rafia. For our centerpieces, we bought plates from Walmart, for exactly $3.98 each (they had a fall leaf pattern around the edge), laid the floating candle bowl on top of the plates, put a some brown pebbles in the bottom, and then had two small goldfish swimming underneath the candles. The look is not only beautiful, but a great conversation piece.
In the fall of 2003, I gathered several beautiful leaves to be dipped in parafin wax and lightly dusted with clear sparkles, to be placed on the tables. Not to mention, we are cutting holes in the tops of small pumpins, and then placing votive candles inside, to be placed on each side of the centerpieces. There is also a huge pick-your-own-pumpkin farm about 20 minutes from our homes, where we are going to buy a lot of the reception decorations.
For the wedding, the flowers are strictly to be fall colored gerbera daises, carnations as filler, golden-rod accents, and mums. The bridesmaids dresses are Cranberry and my dress is Ivory. We decided not to individually label each guest`s seat at the reception, but to buy beautiful picture frames, that would have each family`s surname specifing their tables.

My Wedding date is set for November 11th,2006. I plan on using a burnt orange, a dark maroon, and gold. I want fall leaves incorporated into the theme with lots of Gerbera daisies and we are having a Thanksgiving dinner at the reception. I really need some more ideas for decorating without using pumpkins or squash, gourds etc. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

We`re getting married in September of 2006, and I found a creative way to use pumpkins for our decor. Just cut the bottom and hollow out like you would for a jack-o-lantern, and then cut random holes (or any other shape you like) around the pumpkin...you can do this with a drill bit or a stencil I suppose, the size I liked was nickle-quarter size depending on the size of the pumpkin. Anyway, then just set a votive on the bottom and place the pumpkin on top, and it will cast a beautiful glow and add ambiance...especially if you can place them outside along the walk to the reception, etc. And, I am very opposed to cheesy or theme-y ideas, but I think this is pretty clever.
We are also going to use gerber daisies and mums in centerpieces, I feel like they will give the most bang for your buck. We are also having cupcakes instead of a cake, on a tier with a small cake on top for us to cut. I am having a difficult time deciding on a color for my bridesmaids, because so many fall weddings have wine/maroon/burgandy and I want to do something different. Any ideas on how chocolate brown would look next to the boys` black tuxes? Maybe champagne dresses?
Hope I gave someone a good idea!

My daughter will be getting married in November 2006. She has decided on a Fall wedding theme. She has picked out a beautiful gown that is ivory and her maid of honor and bridesmaids will wear what they call truffle (like a dark brown). It looks really nice together. We have lots of ideas to use silk fall colored leaves, and lighted fall color lights with the silk leaves already attached. Would love to hear some more ideas and or pictures of fall weddings that would help us with some more ideas. Thanks so much and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there..
I`m planning my wedding in November 2006. Of couse the fall theme kept running by me. I was not allowed to use floating candles, just hurricane... I went to the dollar store, and bought "chip & dip" plates what I can cover with greenery or foil if I need to. A hurricane candle fits perfectly in the centre. I`m having different centre pieces - and guests will be seated at the "rose garden", or sunflower garden". The centre pieces will have different flowers that I will put together with floral foam. White table cloths, with fall coloured napkins.
I finallly came up with the perfect cup cake idea... I saw it on TV, different tiers of cup cakes individually decorated. The top was a small cake that the bridal couple cut... It looked great, and that`s what I`m going to do. They had decorated the cup cakes, and put flowers and leaves inbetween to decorate

Hi,
I am getting married on October 7, 2006, and I chose to have a fall themed wedding. The girls are each wearing a different color,... Burnt orange, red, olive green, and gold. The flowergirl is wearing ivory, the same as me. She will carry leaves in her flowergirl basket. The napkins on the tables will be the colors of the dresses the girls are wearing, there will be lots of leaves, some tulle and lights in the ceiling, i have a few fall colored balloons, to mainly put in the corners. I am setting up a bench in one corner with fall trees, leaves scattered on the floor, some hay, pumpkins and apples, just in case the weather doesnt cooperate and we need to get pictures taken inside. For centerpieces I was thinking of either spray painting pumpkins gold, or getting little apple crates, and filling them with apples. I have leaves and leaf shaped confetti to sprinkle over the tables. We are having a turkey "thanksgiving" meal. For the favors I was going to do carmel apples, but because I am travelling to my home province to get married I won`t really have the time to make them, so I am going to have truffles, wrapped in tull, tied with raffia and a thank you favor card attached. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them!!! Congrats on your upcoming weddings and good luck!!! :)

I am getting married October 8th, 2006. I am having a FALL / AUTUMN THEMED Wedding. My Wedding dress is ivory and my Bridesmaid`s are a Deep Burgundy / Wine color. For centerpieces I am using a shallow glass bowl with water on top of a mirror. I am wrapping the bowls with twigs and berry garland and using Maple leaf floating candles with tea lights on the corners of the mirror. I am still looking for a cake, However...I AM LOST on finding the PERFECT Autumn / Fall themes Wedding CAKE :( I would like to tie Deep Burgundy into the cake as well as berrys and twigs...anything with a "Fall / Autumn" feel (maybe even some small pumpkins)??? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY IDEAS OR PICTURES that anyone would be able to suggest. :) :) :)
Thanks,

You all have given me so many good ideas! :-)
My wedding will be on October 7, 2006 and like some of you, I`m mostly using fall leaves. And I mean they are gonna be EVERYWHERE! :-)
My dress is white with a sort of leafy bead design... I know ivory matches fall better, but we`re going for the purity thing, so it`s white. ;-) I also found a tiara that`s kinda leafy. And we`re kind of going for the brighter colors of fall... Not so much the wine, maroon, dark green colors.
The bridesmaids are actually wearing apple red, and the guys` tux accent color will be too. The flower girl`s dress has little red roses on it, so the whole wedding party`s going to be pretty coordinated.
Decorations, (besides just being totally leafy): There will be a bunch of mums (since we know someone who grows and sells them). We`re also doing the glass bowls as table centerpieces, with the twiggy/leafy ring around the bottom. They will have deep red and orange pebbles in the bottom, be filled with water (of course), and have floating leaf candles. In addition, we have these interesting glass candle holders that curve in toward the top, so we`ve found this nifty leaf-bead ribbon at Michael`s that we`re going to wrap around the top. Kind of like those "candle necklace" things that seem to be getting more popular. The leaf beads actually hang down, so it makes a really neat look. Also, the head table will be draped across the front with tulle and bows, and behind the tulle we`re going to string icicle lights, to create somewhat of a glow. I`ve seen this done, and it looks awesome! :-)
I found some great pictures online of some fall-ish wedding cakes. From those, my fiance and I decided that we liked one that was the traditional white. There were edible leaves on the picture we liked, but we searched and searched for months to find some, and they just don`t seem to be around anywhere! :-( The bright side to this is that I have a great aunt who makes awesome wedding cakes, and we went over to have a "trial bake" with her, and we just put some silk leaves here and there to get an idea of how it would look. And Michaels had these $0.99 glittery leaf picks that we divided a little... (I just about live at Michael`s these days...) and we stuck them in the top, since we`re not using a traditional wedding topper. Oh man... It was awesome. :-) It was just the look we were going for, and since we already have a ton of silk leaves, we don`t have to worry about buying anything else to go on the cake!
The only live flowers we`re buying are for the bouquets, possibly corsages and boutonnieres, and the mums (if you even count those in the same category...). We`ll be getting bouquet clamps to decorate the cake table with the bridesmaids` and my bouquets. We also learned at a wedding class at none other than Michael`s, how to make tulle bows, layered tulle bows, bows with leaves in the center, and any kind of ribbon bow you could think of. Everything else thus far is leaves galore!
We found these great invitations online that are actually scrolls. And the parts of the scroll that the paper wraps around are cinnamon sticks. :-) The scroll invitations, (complete with RSVP cards and the like) are all mailed in a 6" mailing tube, and when they`re opened, a handful of leafy confetti falls out with the invitation.
Our food isn`t really going to be Thanksgiving-ish, but I have considered serving apple cider. I love the smell, and for those of you who are looking for the most awesome wassail spice to add to an apple cider, you *MUST* try Biltmore. Yeah, it`s that big house in the NC mountains, and they make the most awesome apple cider using cranberry-apple juice and their wassail spice. It`s a *little* bit pricey, but definitely worth it.
Oh yeah... I almost forgot... Even though it`s not really a fall thing, my sister`s wedding gift to us is going to be a butterfly release as we make our "getaway" after the ceremony. 5 dozen orange monarchs will be released by the wedding party as we exit. I`m really excited about that. :-) We`re saving 2 of them to display in a viewing cage at the reception. It`s all sweet and symbolic and stuff!
And let me just say... I love the gold pumpkin idea. I`ll bet that looks really cool. :-)
Okay, well I believe I`ve said enough, so if you guys want to know anything about any of the stuff I mentioned, or if you can give me any ideas, drop me an email: n2jesus (at) esinc (dot) net. Just make sure you put something about fall weddings in the subject line, or I may not read it.
Thanks, congratulations to all, and God bless! :-)

My Wedding is set for October 20th 2007 and you all have had some wonderful ideas!!! I am wondering if anyone knows where I can find little copper colored pails. I am going to use them to put my candy favors in. All I can seem to find are the silver ones and guess those would be okay but all of the accents are gold, the bridesmaids dresses are going to be pumpkin and mine is going to be ivory. If any one knows where I can find them let me know. Happy planning to all of you :}

My sister is getting married in October this year, 2006. The wedding is goiing to be simple but elegant at a very chichi venue. White pumpkins are going to be the centerpieces, filled with fall flowers and foliage surrounded by gold votive candles and all this will be placed on a mirror base to add just a touch more of a sparkle.

I`m getting married Oct 21, 2006 with the fall color/leaf theme. I was thinking about having my bridesmaids in black tea-length cocktail dresses with long wraps to keep warm and keep the wedding from looking too formal. I`m trying to decide on whether I want the wraps all one color (maroonish) or a different fall color (maroon, burnt orange, goldish, brown, green etc). I`m leaning toward the different colors, but I really want to see an example of what this would look like to make sure it won`t look too scattered but I`ve searched the internet with no luck. Does anybody have any examples they could send me or direct me to??
Also, how are people decorating their reception sites? Do most people hire someone or do it themselves earlier in the day? I`m trying to save money, but I also don`t want to be too rushed or stressed.
As for decorations, my tables will all have different deep fall colored cloths, scattered with leaves. I`m thinking the centerpieces will be candles and mirrors with twigs/leaves. I also like little white lights.
At our sign in table where we are having a table cloth that people will sign instead of a picture matte or guest book. We will put on this a group picture of everyone at the wedding that we can take out each anniversary. On this table, we are having one of our framed engagement pictures flanked by each of our parents` and grandparents` wedding pictures (all are still married- what a feat!), sort of like a family tree.

I`m getting married October 7 2006. My centerpieces are going to be real pumpkins with mums and these cute little apple luminary jar candles that I found on tenderheart.com for
$4.95 (set of 3). I`m also using leaves on the tables and leaf garland with lights around the cake. Our favors are going to be candy and caramel apples that I will be ordering two weeks before the wedding from daffyapple.com.
