Wedding Gown Bustle

I just went in today to get a bustle my wedding dress. What they wanted to do just looked terrible! I left the dress shop without making a decision at all. I am wondering if anyone knows how you would do a bustle on a dress that has two wide "stripes" with beading down the back and the train. The lady I worked with today said that these were what was causing the bustle to look so bad. I just know that there has to be a way to keep my beautiful dress looking beautiful with a bustle.
