Wedding Dress Maintenance

First of all, and the most important part...do NOT leave the dress hanging on a hanger...with the wedding that far off! The dress fabric can stretch through the shoulders. If the dress has straps that take the weight off the shoulders...USE them...but it`s still best to lay the gown out flat on a bed...under a bed..on the top shelf of a closet etc. Secondly, it is best to NOT leave the gown in the bridal bag if it is plastic....as the plastic will give off chemicals and can cause discoloring in the gown...and impart a plastic chemical odor to the gown. You can buy fabric, breathable bridal bags on Ebay...and they are much better....or you could simply wrap the gown loosly in a white cotton sheet. The sequins should not yellow if the gown is not in the light. That usually happens to gowns that are on display in store windows for a long time. Also....do not store the gown in a garage or attic where it will be exposed to an excessive temperature either.
