Wedding Dress Size

I got my Mon Cheri wedding dress finally and when I tried it on it`s about 1 1/2" - 2" too small on the chest and I`m not able to zip it up all of the way. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so were you able to get it altered so it all worked out?
