How Do I Thank People For Money Gifts?

We are receiving monetary gifts for our wedding. Is there a proper way to thank people without saying `thanks for the cash?`

It would please the giver to know what you plan on spending the cash on....For example, "Thank you so much for the generous gift. We will be using it to purchase the____ we have always wanted." Hope this helps!

Another way of wording the thank you could be..."We appreciate your kind generosity. We will be applying your gift towards the purchase of____."

Most definitely tell them what you have purchased (or plan to purchase) with the money. Hopefully you will use the money for something that you can use or treasure for many years to come, and express that in your thank you note as well. If you use it to pay your electricity bill, then lie in your thank you note. Some lies are better than the truth. LOL!
