DIY Catering

I am helping my sister with her wedding. She has a very small budget and we are catering the wedding our selves. What ideas do you have for food. We are looking to spend about $1000 on food and alcohol for 100 people. My inlaws are going to help with keeping the food replenished and cleaning up so that is taken care of.
With your ideas try to keep in mind.
The wedding is an outside garden evening wedding in August, in Atlanta, GA
So I need foods that will do well outside.

Maybe try having bbq style foods. Chicken, mashed potatoes, salad. Things like that.

My suggestion.. Try and get a hold of the Jamie Oliver videos or cook books, also Nigela Lawson, they have fantastic foods for inside and outside parties, that are easy to make, and delicious to eat.
