FOR THOSE WHOSE WEDDING WILL BE IN 2000

Where I can understand being upset about this... I was as well. However, every person that entered this contest had to read, and agree to, the rules and regulations stated by PartyPop. Stated in these rules and regulations was the following statement:

"PartyPOP.com reserves the right to cancel or suspend any Contest at its sole discretion."

When signing up for this contest we all knew that there was a remote possibility that something like this could occur. Given the number of entrants, if anyone is counting on winning this contest in order to have a wedding, I'm sorry but they are setting themselves up for a disappointment. Yes, it would be nice, but there are some great stories in there and the competition is going to be a rough one. You can't take it too personnaly.

Angie, you must be one of the lucky ones being married after the end of contest..... Great for you.

However, the rules you posted say "cancel or suspend" that is not what is happening here. This is called extending, and that isn't allowed on a contest. BY LAW.

I hope your wedding is beautiful and I am sure my friends will be too but it kinda takes the wind out of your sails when stuff like this unfair stuff happens.......

Actually my wedding is on December 16, 2000. That is what prompted me to read your message in the first place.

I am also sorry for you having missed the date. It isn't fair and I wish they had thought this through more before doing that.

I am sorry for those who's wedding will be this year. But I don't think that partypop is looking for someone who's wedding is two months from the deadline, I would think that they are looking for someone who has plenty of time for planning or someone who hasn't done much planning at all. It doesn't say they are giving you $50,000, it states that they will guarantee to provide certain things for your dream wedding, like invitations, a gown, catering, a honeymoon etc. (up to 50.000). So I would think two months before your wedding that you would have all of those things, or I would hope you would. So what would partypop be able to help you with? 50,000 worth of thank-you cards? Maybe I'm wrong, maybe they would reimburse you for what you've already paid for, and I really think they should make that clear to everyone if they plan on doing anything like that, or should state wether you will have to use their vendors or you will be able to choose your own??? And other details as far as taxes, etc. I think that the rules are not all that clear, but I know the person who wins will be greatful enough with any help that they receive. If I were offering this to someone I guess I would just want to be there from beginning to end and be involved in every detail to make them happy, but I guess with that kind of money they could probably get things done in two weeks... ha. Well good luck to everyone, and hopefully partypop will clarify a few things so that a few of you wont be any more disappointed than you already seem.

I think what she is reffering to are the people that entered and their weddings were after the deadline for entries. Meaning that when the winner was anounced it would still be before the end of the year not after the first of the year I know that a person who may be getting married on 12-16 00 still had a chance at being a winner if the deadline wasnt moved.Therefor that person still could have had the option of changing a few things and have the money to do so by winning the contest .Have a good day all .
