Creative Ideas Needed For Decorating

Hey all you creative ladies...I need your help and ideas with spiffing up a reception place to look real nice. I am having a reception at Embassy Suites in Nashville and the banquet room is very nice, but pretty plain and could use some jazzing up. We can not use plants from the hotel and I am coming in from another area that is about 2 hours away and I love ficus trees and stuff with lights. We can not hang anything on walls with holes either.....so.... Any suggestions on things? I would love to hear them please.

Can you find the ficus trees? Have you been to Home Depot or Lowes to visit their garden section? They have tons of trees and plants there you could use.

I would try to avoid anything that looked cheap, like paper streamers. Metallic balloons (the kind that are on wooden sticks) can be very pretty though. Also, what about a fancy ice sculpture? These range in price anywhere from $100 to $500, for a pretty large sculpture to go on a table. Also, you could rent a champagne fountain, or a chocolate fountain.

We used pictures of all of our relatives weddings. Great- Grandparents, Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins and scanned and printed them & made them all 5x7`s. I bought all neat frames (I found alot at Big Lots and Dollar stores) and set them out on a banquet table. Then printed who they were and how and who they were related to with the year they were married. Then in the middle we had collage frames of my husband growing up, me growing up and the one of us together while we were dating and our engagement picture.Everyone commented on what a nice touch it was and never seen before. After we did it, a friend of mine bought one of those photo room divider things and had that at the entrance of the hall filled with their childhood photos and then of them together.
