Dress Alterations
How much is average to get your dress hemmed? The lady that is going to do mine is charging 75 dollars which I think sounds high. She`s only doing the front of the dress and a little bit on the sides, also, it`s only like an inch or so that needs to go up. My dress is simple on the bottom, theres no beads or sheer layers to work through. Is this average or is she trying to rip me off? Thanks for your help

I think you should get down on your knees and kiss this womans feet!!!!!!! $75?!?!?!?!? to hem a wedding gown. Plain or not, 1 inch or 10 inches, $75 to hem a wedding dress is NOTHING. My sister is a seamstress and she won`t touch a wedding gown for under $150......
My advise, when you pay her add a $20 tip!

As ridiculous as it sounds, you are getting a pretty good deal. Most bridal stores in my area (WI) charge $125 for a hem. Personally, I think a seamstress should take into account the complexity of the dress, which maybe she is. I would go with it for $75!
