Fishing Wedding Theme, Need Help!

Help! Me and my soon to be husband are planning to hold our wedding and reception outdoors, (we live in Kentucky) and need advice on our favorite hobby, fishing, as a wedding theme. I cant seem to find any wedding cake toppers or any real creative ideas, if anyone can help give me some advice, i would really appreciate it.

These are some great Ideas. We too are doing the fishing theme. My Soon to be is going to go to Wal-mart buy 2 cheap fishing poles. We will then wrap then in Ribbon of our wedding colors and tie them together to form a heart. Hanging in the middle will be 2 wood shaped fish picture frames with our pictures in them. HTH

Hi Tracey~
Here are some suggestions:
Favors: gummy fish, wrapped in small netting or tule.
Some people number the guest tables..so why not name the tables the names of fish. The center pieces you could have flowers in a flat round bowl with some river rocks and a goldfish or two. What`s on the menu? Why not offer fish as a meal selection?

Congrats and good luck!

It has to be said ..you must play Brad Paisley`s " I`m Gonna Miss Her. The Fishing Song" at the reception. Hilarious Song.

Wilton makes all kinds of cake toppers...for all types of sports...so I would check out their website...just do a search...or if there are wholesale cake decorating shops in your area, look there..and be sure to ask for help looking at a Wilton Catalog. I ordered a birthday cake last Feb for my Dad...and picked out a whole fishing theme...with a row boat and man with a fishing pole...lots of parts...so look at the grocery stores and their birthday cake ideas too.

Hi. My fiiance and I are also doing a fish theme he likes lake fishing and I like tropical fish. In your case it sounds like you are more into fresh water fishing, so here are some ideas we had for his table. For the cake get a 5 gallon fish aquarium with natural colored rocks and minnows, and have j a 1/2 sheet cake on top. A picture cake with your favorite picture af the two of you on a fishiing trip.
On the table have an open tackle box with gold fish crackers and gummie worms. Space bobbers and luers along the table and add a couple of fishing poles on each end for decoratioin. Hope this helps I have a million more ideas if you need em`.

The idea i have for our wedding is...center pieces is to have gold fish in bowls of coloured water with floating candles. And that when we enter the hall (place) we have our fishing song playing with us entering to walk under our best friends holding fishing rods up for us to walk under (like military weddings with swords) great way to include anyone that could not be in the wedding party! hope this helps you all some! would love to see pics if anyone uses it and congrats!!!
