contest

i would just like to say good luck to all who have voted !But lets not lose focus here. There have been alot of boards both encouraging and demeaning in character but it all goes to "may the best couple win".You see if all of you feel the way you do about your mate then a $50,000 or a $5.00 wedding shouldnt matter becuase having that one of a kind love makes you a winner allready .Weather I win or loose the contest is not whats important becuase when I look at my happiness and the happiness in my family no one can put a price tag on that and that is by far the greatest prize of all .Everyone wants the chance to win but it all seems to be at a cost now by what I read on the boards.Obviously each of those posted were choosen to be a part of the next round of judging what ever that may be so at least you have made it that far ........remember your story didnt have to be picked at all so be happy with that .
Unfortanatly only 1 will win but there is the saying dont count your chickens before they hatch ....so dont let this contest hinder your wedding planning . This should be a joyous memory for everyone that submitted a story .Dont wait for money you may not ever recieve, just go on and work at it and believe that you will have thewedding of your dreams no matter what the cost...If your marrying the man of your dreams ( like I am ) then all that other stuff is just materialistic for the day of course who wouldnt want to have a fairy tale wedding in whatever context it is but just remember when the candles dim and the food is gone and all the guests go home the important thing is the memories you will make .That is something no amount of money can make for you or take from you .If you really want something bad enough you will see to it that you will get it .....weather that is by working extra jobs or cutting corners......but dont let this contest and the opinions of those judging it make you feel that if you dont win or your score isnt that high that your wedding wont be the wedding you dream of ...........Love and feelings between two people make the day special and thats what all your friends and family will rememeber not how much fun they had or what they ate.....you ask any couple who have been married for a long time if you could ask their guest what they remember the most about that person wedding and i bet it wont be what they served for the entree........it will be love ...............thats what makes it all worth it in the end..........
Sorry this was long but I just felt compelled to right my opinion after reading all the different postings.......May all of you have the wedding you deserve and the happiness that makes your marriage work .............Best of luck !

I couldn't agree more... that's very similar to posts that I've put up before. I think that it is important for people to remember that the voting is not going to be the final decision anyway. PartyPop will be choosing the winner... so, feasibly, the $50,000 could go to someone with a 1.0 rating after it's all said and done! I, for one, have not changed the way I'm going forward with my wedding planning.

I agree also....it's only a contest. We should consider ourselves winners already with the wonderful men in our lives...........

Alright! enough of that mushy junk! LOL I am already married and have been now for 13 years on Nov 8th, but, I got married in a city hall the first time I married my man and when we married again we married in a very nice quiet church. Not a big fanciful wedding or anything but like you all have posted. It's the love not the luxury.

OK back to the mushy's :)

I hadn't been to the partypop message board, but now that I have I am seriously beginning to doubt the integrity of this outfit.

Some of the posts on the board were from "TeamPartyPOP" and I had never been notified of some of these changes...like these:

"Yes! Even if someone have the highest average score on the end date, that doesn't exactly mean they will be the winner!
Partypop committee will make the final decision!
posted 10/26/00 by Team Partypop"

"PartyPop Committee will make the final decision by January 5.

The voting will be close by January 2 at midnight Pacific Time.
The winner will be notifying by January 6.

They never e-mailed me these "clarifications", so I wonder if anyone else got them. As far as I'm concerned, if you're running a contest and make ANY changes or clarifications, ALL entrants should be notified, not just those who read a general message board that was not even intended to be ABOUT the contest.

Good luck to everyone, and don't let anyone's opinions of your wedding dreams or your "couple story" get to you at all....in the end it only matters what you and your mate think!
