Vetran`s Day Party
This year my grandpa turned 90. He is a vetran of the second world war and he keeps in touch with all the local vetrans through the local Elk's lodge. I am working with a coordinator of the lodge to try and plan a vetran's day party. Believe it or not this has never been done here before. Now I don't know where to go from here. What do you do at a party where all of the guests are 80-90 something??

Nathan,
Play Bingo!!! (just kiddin) How about if you have each guest bring with them some memorabilia (medals, war helmets, etc). Believe me, if you get a bunch of old guys in one room reminiscing about a war, they won't NEED entertained. My father served in WW2 and once he gets started telling "war stories" we can't stop him. And they ARE pretty interesting......
Hope this helps....

Nathan,
Why don't you have each guest bring in some type of memorabilia from the war..(medal, helmet, uniform)
Old people love to reminisce and tell stories. This will keep them busy for hours.
Just make sure you put on some coffee and feed them.
I think you are very nice for thinking of your grandpa like this.

Diane, you crack me up. But I agree... when my Granddad gets together with all his war buddies they don't care what else is going on around them. ESPECIALLY if there's "artifacts" that they can motivate them to talk and tell their stories.

I told my dad about it and he agreed. He said that you won't have to do anything to entertain. They'll just
enjoy talking about experiences, comparing battle scars.......etc.
