Lego Basket For Gifts
I saw the neatest idea for a gift for the ring bearers. It was a basket made out of lego`s..unfortunately it was a magazine that gave no directions just ideas..Does anybody have any idea on how to make these? as I`m sure it`s not as easy as it looks..thanks a bunch

I SAW THE SAME IDEA IN A BRIDAL MAGAZINE. I WENT OUT THIS PAST WEEKEND AND BOUGHT SOME LEGOS (THE SMALL ONES) AND ACTUALLY MADE THE BASKET. IT WAS NOT HARD AT ALL, JUST TIME CONSUMING. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 2 HOURS TO MAKE THE WHOLE THING. AT FIRST I WAS JUST EXPERIMENTING TO SEE IF I COULD DO IT, BUT WHEN I WAS FINISHED, I KNEW THIS WOULD BE MY RING BEARER GIFT. I HAVE TWO RING BEARERS AROUND 5 AND THEY WILL BE SO EXCITED. NOW I HAVE UNTIL APRIL TO MAKE ANOTHER AND KEEP THEM TOGETHER.

I did not really follow any pattern. I just looked at the picture and went from there. I built the base part for as wide as I wanted it and really just built up. I did not want to glue the handle because I wanted it to be easy for them to tear apart and still play with the legos. It is kinda hard to explain how to do it, but if you just play around with it, you should be able to do it. Sorry that I can`t give you more help than I have. Please let me know if you have any questions on doing it and I will do my best to give you instructions. Good luck and hope to hear how it goes.

I bought the Mega Blocks (600 pieces) from Wal-Mart. They are the smaller ones. They have a set with 80 pieces that are a little bigger, but I wanted to make sure I had enough. They were only about $10.00 and it almost used all 600 pieces. The remaining blocks I am wrapping in tissue paper and putting in the basket. Just remember to form your base of the basket first. I did this two blocks high so the base would be sturdy enough to put stuff in it. I made the width about 4 or 5 inches (or something around there -- I don`t have the basket with me right now to tell you for sure). After your base, just start going up -- staggering your blocks on both ends. The front and back will stay the same, just get higher. Hope this helps -- let me know how it is going. :} Tiffany
