Keri,
My future mother in law got a pretty box with 2 flower bulbs in it. There was a pretty poem on a scroll
inside and for the life of me I can't remember what it said.
Something along the lines of " plant them and as they grow that is a symbol of the couples love growing
as well. Something along those lines.

Diane--- Thats a good idea...especially because we are thinking of having our wedding outside...that would kind of go with the whole "feel"...: )
Thanks for the idea!

Hi ladies :)
I was also having a problem trying to come up with favor ideas... finally I came up with an idea for a little box (bought wholesale online for $0.16 each) filled with home made potpourri sachets ($30 made 32 cups of potpourri... PLENTY) and little floating flower candles in my wedding colors, and then I tied a little ribbon on them and attached a scrool that says:
Here is a little box of love
Filled to the brim, that's true,
When you see it you will know
How much we think of you!
You do not need to open it
So leave the ribbon tied
Just hold it in your hands and know
It's filled with love inside.
If you're so inclined to peek,
This gift is our way to say
How much it means to both of us
You are here to share our day.
Love,
Kyle & Leah

I ended up spending less than $1.00 per favor and my the gals that helped me put them together thought they were great!

No problem! I had used a similar poem for a project when I was a D.A.R.E. role model in high school. I just took the poem and tweaked it a little bit and added the third verse to make it fit the occasion! I already gave one to a neighbor that won't be able to make it to a wedding and she put the box in her dresser drawer... she told me every time she opens it she can smell the potpourri I made and it makes her think of Kyle and I :) :) :)
