The critics agree!

To remind those of you who have lost your perspective, this contest, as stated by PartyPop, is about "the most unusual story or situation". I was going to try to count the number of criticisms for the Hummer wedding compared to those of the others. Well, I didn't need a calculator! The Hummer wedding gets the most critiques, by far! Reason? It truly IS the most unique, by far. That is the point of the contest, remember? (And it _is_ a contest, not a government welfare program.) For those of you who criticize, you are (and have been) making clear this point; a Hummer themed wedding is truly the most unique and unusual.

At least, that's what you critics are saying!

I don't think the idea of a contest for a "unique" wedding necessarily means that only one is unique - duh! All are unique. All are special. I read the Hummer one, and did not get the impression that Beverly C. feels any differently. Just because one may be judged to be the most unique from the rest doesn't demean others. C'mon people, get with the program - this ain't communism!

The first time a skydiving wedding was done, back in the 1970's, it made national headlines. Now, skydiving weddings are so commonplace that there's a Las Vegas company that does nothing but skydiving weddings. Does this mean that first couple from the 1970's should now have a divorce imposed upon them by the state? (Well, maybe some of you whiney communists might think so.)

Even though it's not so _globally_ unique, anymore, I'd think that the couples who still do skydiving weddings still think it's unique enough for them. I'd believe that it's still special for them. Of course it is! That's not being disputed, but that is NOT what this contest is about.

Just because there's no longer media coverage of skydiving weddings doesn't mean it's a media conspired plot. Still unique? Yes. Still special? Yes. Distinctive above and beyond the call, and deserving of national attention? Sorry, not anymore.

Apologies for being repetitive. Sorry for being redundant. I hope many examples will make the point clear.

(By the way, it's just my opinion, of course, but I think if any of the stories should be eliminated, it should the one I read about menstruation. *gag*)

One final thought; beware the Ides of March! You future spouses of those doing all the whining, ponder this... someday that whining will be directed at YOU!

*whew* I'm glad I'm probably never getting married! (But then, so is all of womankind! :)

4. READ THE POST AGAIN !
No one said it wasn't unique, no one said it wasn't special. What was said, was that the writer of the story made others feel "lower" "less worthy", etc. of a special wedding.
Most of the post are from people not entered in the contest, so what does that say........hmmm
