Wishing Well
Does anyone know how to make a wishing well? I don`t want to rent one because most of them look cheap.

How big is the wishing well supposed to be?

We are taking a shoebox and wrapping it. Keep the lid on it and wrap it as a present in some wedding paper. Cut a slit in the top and put it on the guest table. This way the envelopes can go in, however the whole box has to be unwrapped to get them out. Put somebody in charge of taking it to their car (mom or dad etc) after most of the guests arrive. This way no body will take it (yes it does happen). Most guests will drop their envelope off when they arrive.

You can get a nice sized bouquet vase, tie a beautiful ribbon around it, and leave cards arranged on the table along with pens. I have seen this idea in a wedding book and plan to use it at my own wedding. Good luck with yours.

Hi I think everyone has the wrong idea of what I`m looking for. This is larger and resembles the old fashion ones you see in peoples yards but it is made to hold food or items to fill a couples pantry. I saw somewhere an idea to make one from a garbage can and brooms or mops to hold up something like a roof. Thanks for any help.

You can make a wishing well or you can buy one. If you have any 1/2 off card shops or discount party supplies store in your area they have several to choose from usually. I`ve seen one for less than $20 that is decorated with flowers and includes a cute little flowered bucket. There are also satin decorated boxes, maillbox shaped boxes....the list goes on and on
Another option is to purchase the preformed well and add your own decorations to it. Wrap it in lace or paper, only add trimmings to it like ribbon or flowers....or .................
I have spent hours online and have found many items that I had no idea even existed or would never have thought I would want. Just remember that if you can find it at an expensive price...keep looking, you will be able to get it chaper somewhere else.
