Kids
I just need some help coming up with some fun ideas to keep the kids at our reception from getting bored. I know that most everybody is anti-kid when it comes to weddings, but my FH and I are very family oriented people and we WANT the children in our familes to be a part of this. I just want to have a few things handy just in case they get bored, but I haven`t really been able to come up with anything. All of the kids in my family are little girls and the ages range from 5 to 13. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, being girls they will love getting dressed up and dancing. But there are some other ideas too like coloring books, jacks...maybe give them disposable cameras and let them be in charge of taking candid shots. I do sell children`s books and have one called "Fairy Things to Make and Do" with directions to make wands, crowns, and with stickers too....if they are not into that I have one with Magic Tricks. Email me at Usborne@needtoread.us if you are interested in giving them these or any of the other activity books we have.
I just came back from a family wedding and the girls went around with a basket full of bubbles and handed them out.

Our reception site has a seperate room for kids with a tv and vcr in it. We are making goodie bags and having things such as a cotton candy maker and an ice cream maker for them as well. Since I am getting married in October we may have a little halloween party theme set up for them. I have also thought about hiring a clown to come and entertain for a few hours. The kids we will have there will be between about 3-12 so I want to find something that is suitable for most ages.

Truthfully, I don`t remember if I read it on this site from another post or what, but it was such a cute idea! Have some of the tables set up at the reception with butcher paper. You can have crayons on the tables, and the children can sit at the table and go to town!
