hummer of a wedding

lol, I was thinking the same thing ! If I could afford the payments and insurance on a hummer, I should be able to pay for a nice wedding.
I am not entered in this contest, so I figure I can put in my 2 cents in and let partypop know how an outsider feels.
Every wedding is special, not an "ordinary wedding"
Not "everyone and their brother" gets married in a church
It was hard to read the other stories after this one, I was very offended, I felt like she was putting down my own wedding.
Oh well, I'm glad partypop has the last say, I'm sure they will make the best choice.

first of all i think that all of you are just mad because she has a creative idea. can't you just be happy for someone instead of all of the jealosy? and another thing, you dont have to have all of the money in the world to own an expensive vehicle. for gods sakes i have a 95 dodge viper and i have to work my behind off just to keep gas in it and keep it insured. and i read the story and it dosent seem to me that she is putting the other wedding ideas down its that she dosent want hers to be like the ones she mentioned, not that shes degradeing them.

your off the mark amber at least as far as my feelings go ....i have never put her down so dont call me jealous....I say to each his own .....If i rember correctly this thread started by asking were her story went ......the bashing about stories is old news......I feel that she was very opinionated in her story but oh well she is entitled to it however the way she went on and on was a bit overboard .......her idea suits her likings as it should but can we say "IDEA OVERKILL" !!! All we heard about was hummer this and hummer that seems to me there is more in common with the hummer then the future husband and that the day focus is around hummers...........sounds like alot of fumes to me ......I say she should go for whatever suits their likings and more power to them but in no way are you being fair by saying we are just being jealous........This contest to me is pure fun . If I win I win if i dont I dont .......Nothing gained and nothing lost .But dont assume that because there are some who have become so obsessed with this that they have to resort to name calling and personal attacks that all of us are just jealous...........If her story gets picked up by off road or bycicle weekly who cares......its not coming out of any of our pockets.....Personally I dont think that its a ploy of any means just some one with a very wild imagination ...after all didnt they say make your story unlike any other ..well there ya go ......but I think 98% of the people focused more on the whole picture of happiness not just how can we turn our big day into a spectacle........Again I say good luck to EVERYONE !!! No story was any better then the other ......In each persons eyes they have the best story and thats what matters ........If Bev really wants that hummer wedding then by all means she should have it however if the only way she can have it is by winning the contest then that says alot about how important that "humdinger of a wedding " will be ........You want it I say go get it ...maybe you cant have $50,000 worth of a hummer wedding but you can still get your point across without shoving it down peoples throats . My fiance and I are both EMT"S who met at work and work for an ambulance company and alot of people coming to our wedding are in the police/fire.ems field but that doesnt mean we want to drive away in an ambulance instead of a limo or wear bunker gear instead of wedding attire or give out stethescopes for wedding favors .....My advice to Bev would be your idea was great and I respect your idea whole heartedly but although you may enjoy your hummers and your hummer friends did you also think that maybe the people there who drive maybe a toyota might find it a bit too much or even the fellow hummers feeling the same way .........Just as you were entiteld to your opinion as you expressed well this is merely an expression of mine .........Fly with your idea as high as you can but girl but remember there may be things that can fly a bit higher that just may get in your way .....Best wishes to you and all those still waiting for word.....!!!! NO!! so keep that in mind. and for the people that are talking nonsence about this they must be jealous or maybe scared that someone might beat them at this so called contest. and you're right this is supposed to be a contest but it seems to me like this is a battle. i think that the people that are putting stories down are only worried that thiers aren't good enough and you should think that it is and if you dont then why even bother staying in the contest? you shouldn't think negative because if you do,your outlook will be.

End quote ...so my friend you did point your finger at me AND all the people who either have entered the contest or posted on these boardsby saying ALL so maybe YOU should keep that in mind.! As I have gone back and read through these threads again I dont see anyone putting her story down but merely stating that they feel that she was making fun of other peoples ideas comparing to hers so your hostility in your writing in very unfair . I never put her story or anyone elses down and nor do I feel that mine is any better then any one elses or theres is better then mine. When you talk of this "so called contest " as being nothing but a battle may I suggest you go back and reread your threads and look at how all you have done is called people " jealous and scared" and you have pointed out that you are reffering to "ALL". When you call people names you are only asking for the same disrespect in return. Instead of saying that everyone else is afraid jealous and scared could it be that with your unkind words maybe you feel the same way by putting up such a defense ? As far as your words about being negative again I say check your own writing .......From my point of view I always thought that name calling was negative and calling people jealous and scared must make you as negative as your own opinion and your own comments . I have at least tried to cheer everyone on here and wish them luck .I have also seen that with other people.There are some of us here who are in the contest merely for the fun of it and are not taking it as personally as some people . Both posts that you have put on here in regards to this subject have been very much reaking with attitude so before you go and tell people how to change their outlook to affect their attitude may I suggest you follow your own advice. Rude words get rude comments in return. When you say nice things people usually are supportive back and those that are still negative with thier comments are just plain negative to begin with .
