Semi- Gothic Reception

I`m wanting to have a somewhat gothic reception. I`m having a traditional wedding... White dress and all, but for the reception i would like something different... I have a few ideas... Just wondering what others input might be:)... I welcome ALL suggestions and pictures:)

Thanx Tanya

What are your colors?
You could do black or dark colored tablecloths and chaircovers.....
Maybe more victorian/dark ages/gothic...if that makes sense...
I would do lots of columns, dark shades-reds and blacks, dark atmosphere, white lights.
This is a tough one....good luck!

I`m not sure what Gothic is, but I would think you could decorate with a lot of black tulle (if you can find it in black); or your colors could be black and silver. Something like that. It would definitely be interesting!

Thanx for all the ideas :).... My colours are wine and a light lilac colour.... However for the reception i sticking mainly with the wine color.. With lots of greenery. I`m planing on haing trees spraylainted silver or black and have white mini lights on them, and having lots of tule around with mini light through it. I`m also planning on having lots of candleabras around and stuff like that..... Can`t go very goth coz my fiance hasn`t really warmed up to the idea yet lol

I think the candelabras is a great idea. It would make the wedding reception very elegant.

Maybe check garden stores or flea markets for cool small statues, like gargoyles or angels. You could use one in the entranceway to the reception or even the ceremony. And have candles everywhere!

Tanya,
Have you thought about changing into a different dress for the reception? Maybe something more Goth in your darker color scheme and add some dramatic eye make-up?
I think lighting adds a lot to the feel of the reception too, try LOTS of candles and branches, staying away from the light floral look :0)
Would be fun to see your pictures!
