Aaarrrhhggg LOL..... Anyhow does anyone have any suggestions on what colors would be good and what type of decorations would be good for a reception.. I`m looking for a classy look no pumpkins or cornstalks.... Thanx all :)

I think that wine and lilac would look great together!
For basic decor, use lots of tulle and ivy.
Actually, I have 3 spools of 6" wide wine tulle. I can`t remember how many yards are on each spool, but I can check if you`re interested. I bought them for my wedding, but they turned out to be the wrong color. I paid $20 for all three but I could get rid of them for half of that. If you or anyone else is intersted email me and I`ll get the specs.

My wedding will be on September 4th of this year. I know two other couples getting married in the fall and they are going with red, but I never wanted a `fall color` wedding so I decided my colors to be lavender, pale pink, and white. Do what ever you want. Don`t think you have to have certain colors just because of that time of year.

I am also planning a September 2005 wedding. My bridesmaid dresses are a Wine color. I am also unsure as to the flower and decoration colors. I was thinking a dark orange. Any suggestions or tips would be great!

We are getting married in a garden on Sept. 4, 2004. We didn`t want to go with fall colors either. Our invites have watercolor butterflies on them with purple, lavender, periwinkle, and some shades of pink. We choose to focus on the lavender, purple, and muted pink. The best way to see what colors you like is to go to a fabric store like Joanns or even Walmart and put pieces of fabric in your colors right next to each other and see how you like the blend. For myself personally I don`t like the idea of wine with lilac, I think the plum and lilac would look a little better, but that`s just me. Congrats and good luck

Hello!
We`re getting married this September (not long now!) and my original plans for colours was wine. My reasoning for the fall wedding was for the warm colours of this season. However, then I saw a very pretty mocha/taupe colour and was so drawn to it. I`ve found the material and a beautiful overlay that will also go on the dress that has ivory in it (hard to describe) So, the colours for our wedding changed. I will still be having some reds or wines in the wedding but may put these in the flowers.
One very cool idea I saw for a fall wedding was wrapping pears or apples in tissue paper for the guests to munch on during pictures. I am getting a stamp made with mine and my FH`s names on it and the date.
There will be no pumpkins or cornstalks at my wedding either (my personal preference). However, I would rather keep the reception simple with warm flowers and candles then to over-do it with other things. I just want a pretty and romantic night for us. My choice is to spend decoration money on flowers. My florist has given me many ideas to do with different types of flowers and greenery.
Good Luck!

I`m getting married in Brazil on the 18th September `04, and have also chosen a red theme wedding - mainly because I saw the idea in a bridal mag and it looked stunning and classy.
I looked at many colour schemes and the red was still my first choice. The striking colour against the white is (in my opinion) just perfect. Obviously too much red can look like a brothal, but I`m hoping to achieve the same look as the mag : the groomsmen will be dressed in black suits with burgandy cravats and the bridesmaid in a burgandy red dress - even my bridal shoes (adidas trainers) have a matching red trim, the bouquet/flowers deep red and white roses against trailing green stems, the reception tables will have white cloths covered with specs of red heart shaped confetti along with red heart shaped chocolates, red napkins and a flower/candle arrangment for the centre piece. The cake pure white and simply decorated with a red rose/petals.
Everyone is different, so go with what you like best. If undecided, choose a colour theme that you know will complement your looks - and rememeber your photo`s. Some people only suit certain colours. My partner is from Brazil so he and his family are naturally dark skined aswell as myself and my family - so red is an ideal choice for us. A friend of mine who recently got married is from a family fair and blond - her lilac theme complemented her looks perfectly.
Personally I wouldn`t mix too many colours - it could clash and end up looking tacky - as they say `less is more`. But, whatever colours you choose I`m sure will be just as stunning....

Tanya,
I am getting married Spetember 17, 05. I decided not to got to far into the fall colors as I live in Texas and here it is still summer in Sept. My bridesmaids are wearing a crepe dress in a deep plum, they will carry flowers of various shades of purple and white, I love calli lillies. I have two gowns one is a rich creammy beigey goldish color and the other, the one I really want to wear, is deep royal purple ( I get frowns from many in the family for that). The wedding will be outside overlooking the lake and the reception is at the same location in a 1600 sq ft cabin type building of raw cedar and austin stone. The tables will have greenery on them and lots of candles, the fireplace will also be full of candles. Because the building itself is very dramatic I am going for minimal elegence otherwise it will be to much. Nothing on the tables will be more than 8 - 12" tall. The cake tables wil be more elebrate .

Well I myself am getting married first weekend in September. I have gone with the colors of burgandy and silver. I love the color burgandy and since there is a silver buckle on thier dress and my dress I went with silver. My center pieces are vases like the eiffle tower vases but I purchased mine at the Dollar Store. I am using silk flowers burgandy and ivory with silver ribbon inserts. They look beautiful.
I like the idea of Lavander. I was recently watching the movie My Best Friends Wedding and the colors were gorgeous. She used the lavander and orange. The centerpiecs were really pretty. You should really see it. Congratulations and good look!!!
