Wedding Dress Bussel

I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a simple bussel that I can do myself on my dress. Or a web site that would teach me. I just discovered that my dress, which has a long train, has no way of putting the train up. I want to wear my dress for the reception, of course, but I don`t want to drag the train around either.

Some bridal shops sell these "hoops" to carry the train in when you are dancing or walking around after the ceremony.

Don`t do the hoop thing to carry your train around. My sister did it because she had a small train and thought it would be nice and simple that way. It got heavy during the evening and in the way. She said it sucked.

I would say just go to a seamstress and a have a bustle made.

Well I did some calling around yesterday and found a lady that does alterations from her home for a local bridal boutique here in town. She is only charging me $15 to bussel the train and fix a small section of the zipper. I had called some other places and they were going to charge me $45 - $85 to do it!!!!

Just for clarification, the technique for raising your wedding dress train from the ground is referred to as a "bussel." Kelly, you were correct.

Fair enough recent bride. When I would search the term, I would rarely find anything under it`s correct spelling.

To Bussel the train you need to attach ties in sets of 2 on the under side of the train. When they are tied or snapped together they bring the train up in gathers to the length of the dress.
