That's a good idea too...I have been trying to figure out how much this will all cost and I
figure around 10K so that's really all that I need. That would pay for it all.

I checked out your website......COOL!!! So far I got my dress (David's) and I got my
garter (eBay) and I got a treasure chest for our son, our ringbearer (eBay).

I would love to read your story.......I don't have a copy of mine unless it's still in my mail
box, I'll have to look.......

This is my story as I submitted it.... I had a little fun with it. At least I can't LOSE anything :)
_________________________________________

Our story begins with two starving kids in Albany, NY. The first, we'll call her... Leah, was 19-years old and brand-spankin'-new to the area. The second, his name will be Kyle, was 23-years old and a grad student at the university. They met at the local Home Depot; it was lust at first sight. Imagine, a young woman, at Home Depot, on her own, without a man, buying things for her own apartment, where she lives, alone… you get the point. So Kyle decided to try and win her heart, very noble for a young college man, and succeeded.

After a year the two young lovebirds, still starving, moved south to Virginia. After going through weeks of apartment searching and several evil property managers, they finally found an apartment the day they were to move out of the place in Albany. Their paperwork was approved as they were moving in.

Kyle was sure the government would hire him, after-all, look at our president! Leah on the other hand was faced with a dilemma; she had no college education and very little experience. In Washington, D.C. it seems this does not matter. Both Kyle and Leah were able to secure jobs within a few weeks of moving to the area.

Another year passes and the property manager, who also turns out to be evil, tries to raise the rent by $100. The couple, no longer starving, makes the decision to buy a house. For nearly a year they had been saving towards getting married and every penny of that savings was put towards the down payment of their little townhouse.

That little townhouse turns out to be THE MONEY PIT. Within the first year the washer and dryer have to be put to sleep, half the windows are replaced, and a pipe explodes and, as a result, a bathroom has to be redone; further draining any savings they might have saved. At this point, Kyle and Leah, and their dogs (we'll name them Garth and Mollie) are starving… again.

Somewhere within this last year the two decide that they want to get married. He has no family to sponge off of. Her family has been sponged dry. The couple must pay for the wedding themselves (God bless credit cards or there'd be no ring!)! But let's not keep this simple, that would be too easy, instead, let's say they decided to get married in Denver! Yes *evil laugh* They must get married 1700 miles from where they live, pay for it themselves, AND plan it themselves!

So you see, our money throwing friends, Kyle and Leah are in dire need of whatever assistance you may be able to offer them… and their starving dogs. If you have any compassion what so ever you will give to this young couple what you can. If you believe in young love and want it to survive you will see that they are so very deserving! They've sacrificed their dignity in asking for this! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT???!!! We're begging… please… for the sake of our starving puppies… We Need Your Help…

I'm spent.

Our budget started out at $8000 (when my parents were helping) and soon fell to less than $6000 (when they decided they couldn't afford to help much). As a result I'm making almost everything myself (decorations, favors, invitations, anything I can think of) and doing without a lot of the "perks" (limo, professional hair and makeup, DJ...). I don't know what I'd do with 10K! I've gotten so used to finding deals, it'd probably be overwhelming! I do know one thing though... we'd be able to take a honeymoon!!!!!

Thank you for the compliment :) I've really worked hard on my web site... it's pretty much the glue keeping my guests and family all on the same page as far as the wedding is concerned. You may have seen the page I put together full of links, some of those places have really great prices! If you comparison shop a little you can really save some money. For example, I got my garter (buy one get the tossing garter free) for $12 from Marilyn's Keepsakes! And I just bought a roll of tulle for pew bows for $2.00 on eBay... the florist was going to charge me $20 for 4!

Good luck & HAVE FUN :)
