Candy Themed Wedding Reception
My daughter is planning a wedding next summer. We have come up with a cute idea using candy as our theme. We will make topiaries with candy, put out candy kisses on the tables, have a chocolate fountain, and the favors will be jordan almonds. But we seem to missing something to tie this idea all together. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, I more than appreciate them.

They did the theme on one of those wedding shows on tv. Sorry, I can`t remember the name or the channel (what help am I?). Anyway, one of the things I remember was the colors they used. Think of the bright colors you see in a bag of hard candy and use mixes of these colors for table settings and centerpieces.

Maybe you could find lots of candies to match your wedding colors.

LInda and Missy thanks for the ideas! Our theme all started when I saw one kiss topiary on a web page and has grown a life of it`s own since then.
If you think of which show that had this theme, please let me know. I`d be curious what all they did.

How about a wedding cake that resembles your favorite candies; i.e., One layer, Skiddles, another Layer M&M`s, a Reeses P`nut Butter cup.
Or you can use the Clear Tubes to set your cake up with and fill them with candies before you display the cake. Your day would be so sweet!!!!

That`s a cute idea. One thing you might find helpful, that worked for me in my own planning, is to choose a secondary theme to help "anchor" everything. Maybe you could do something like a candy fantasyland... The cake could be shaped like a castle and decorated with different candies. You could have those huge lollipops mixed in with the flowers. The topiaries you described would tie in great. Good luck!

Thanks everybody for all the great suggestions. We finally picked a theme name for our project; the sugar shack! So far we went to Ebay and bought a stand up gumball machine to put by the front of the hall, near the guest book table. This should be a wild (and hyper) reception, ha ha. Thanks again to all you creative ladies!

I found a cite where you can order chocolate place cards that are dyed to match your wedding colors, or they can be let as white or brown. Go to www.top100weddingsites.com it will be one of the last 20 cites listed. You won`t be able to miss it. THE PLACECARDS ARE FOLDED SO THAT THEY SIT UPRIGHT ON THE TABLE, THEY ARE AWESOME. I AM USING THEM FOR MY CHOCOLATE THEME WEDDING!!
