Dress Problems With Davids Bridal

During the month of July I purchased my wedding gown from David`s Bridal, and during the month of February I dropped it off for alterations. My pick-up date was pushed back a couple of times, by the store, for different reasons so that the date I came to pick it up became May 12, three weeks before my wedding date.

I came to the alterations department to pick up my wedding dress only to be told that it was still not ready, they continued by saying that I may need to buy a new dress all together because my dress was not meant for short girls. Upon trying on the dress it was apparent that a mistake had been made, as the dress fell just below my knees. The women assisting me immediately looked panicked, becuse the dress had been cut 8 inches too short, pulled the dress off me and left me crying in the middle of the dressing room as they went in search of another dress like mine. They
Managed to find a dress my size (in the dressing rooms) and began the alterations process again. The next day, May 13th I came to pick up the new dress to find that it was still not complete. I had to wait around the store for an hour and half while the dress was finished. When I was ready to leave I discussed the situation with the manager and she agreed to refund the costs of my $160.00 alterations. You would think the story ends here but no, another mistake was made.

Five days later I saw on my bank statement that rather than crediting my account for $160.00 the manager charged my account for $160.00 and overdrew my bank account. I am now missing $320.00 for work that was not done properly and I have an overdraft fee of $50.00 from my bank. I am still disputing the issue with David`s Bridal!

I would never get alterations done at David`s or any bridal store. I would take it to a tailor instead.

Which David`s Bridal store was it? City/State?
My daughter just called today saying she found a gown she liked at David`s but it needs hemmed and I was worried about the ability/reliability of their alterations.
Thank you.

After their first mistake of cutting the dress 8 inches too short (holy cow!), why did you let them do the alterations on the second dress? Why didn`t you take it elsewhere?

I too have noticed a lot of the women complaining about David`s Bridal, keep on doing business with them. You have to wonder why.
