$$$Dollar Dance$$$

I was planning to do the dollar dance where you dance with the guest and they pin the money on you at the reception but after reading some of the threads I`m not sure it is totally appropriate although I have attended weddings and all the guest seemed to enjoy it. Is this appropriate for a wedding reception???

I persoanally have never been to a wedding that this was done. From these boards I have learned that there are several nationalities that tradtionally do this at their receptions. With that said, I think that if it is a tradtion in your family then it is appropriate but if it isn`t I think to do it just to get money it is tacky and shouldn`t be done. Hope this helps, and it`s just my opinion. Good Luck!

I have never attended a wedding where it was NOT done. Regionally speaking, it is not only appropriate here, but expected. (I am from the Gulf Coast.)

I say go for it!! Every wedding i have gone to has done it. I dont remember how it started...but you could get the maid of honor to start it...or even the mothers.
